An FIA Silver graded driver Rob has wide experience of endurance racing in both Sportscar and GT classes at the highest level. In sportscars he has competed in the LMP1 class at events such as the Le Mans 24hr Race and the Sebring 12hrs - regularly running in the leading group. In the Le Mans Series he has competed in GTE-AM, LMP1 and LMP2 achieving podium success.
Rob’s GT career started in Rollcentre’s TVR Cerbera and subsequently included the TVR Tuscan R and the awesome GT1 TVR Cerbera Speed 12. He has wide experience of other marques including Porsche 996 and 997 GT2 and GT3, McLaren MP4-12C, Mosler MT900R, Ferrari 360, 430, 458, 488, Saleen S7, Ascari KZ1R plus Lotus Evora, Nissan 370Z and AMG GT4’s among others. Results include multiple race wins in the British GT Championship, UAE GT Championship and the British GT Trophy Endurance Series. In addition he has achieved podium results in the Daytona 24hrs, FIA GT, LMES and Suzuka 1000km.
During 2011 and early 2012 Rob and Leon Price dominated the GT Trophy Endurance Series and the UAE GT Championships in Leon’s Ferrari 458 GT3 with Rob achieving a string of 7 successive pole positions including the Dubai 24hrs. Since 2012 Rob has competed with Von Ryan Racing in a McLaren MP4-12C in the Blancpain Endurance Series and in 2013 and 2014 with FF Corse in a Ferrari 458 GT3 in the British GT Championships. In his 7th successive Dubai 24 Hours, Rob and Dragon Racing won the Pro-Am class in the 2015 event and came 3rd overall in a Ferrari 458 GT3.
Rob is regarded as a fast, reliable professional with a wealth of experience regularly called on by team managers and tyre manufacturers alike to strengthen driver line-ups at major events.
Rob has been invited to drive both historic sportscars and saloons. A class win was achieved in the 2006 Le Mans Classic event at the wheel of a 1957 Porsche 550A Spyder, and he was set to repeat the result in 2008 until the car was forced into retirement due to a transmission problem.
At Le Mans Classic in 2010 Rob was again able to help the MacLeod brothers to victory in the 1957-61 Indices of Performance at the wheel of their immaculate Lotus 11.
In 2014 and 2016 Rob and Leon Price competed in the Le Mans Classic in both 1956 Moretti 750 Sport Bialbero and 1959 Lotus XV.
At Le Mans Classic in 2010 Rob was again able to help the MacLeod brothers to victory in the 1957-61 Indices of Performance at the wheel of their immaculate Lotus 11.
